Give me mo’ money!

So I have 15 mins left of my lunch, my food has been ate and no one else is on lunch (I took my lunch a half hour later cos I was up to my eyes), so I thought I would blog a bit while I have the time. I’m sitting on a bench, in the sun, looking over the river lagan. It’s peaceful… But I’m not happy!
For the 4 and a half years I have been in my current job, I have had 2 pay rises, the first one after 6 months and the second, over 2 and a half years ago. They say they aren’t giving payrises because of the recession and all that nonsense. But is anyone actually still suffering from the recession? I don’t even think the company I work for ever did (and I would know, I’m in billing) so it seems a bit unfair whenever they say that kind of guff.
A few people have been saying they are going to leave, I wish I could. I have too many responsibilities to be quiting. I just wish they would value their staff, there is so much work being piled on a lot of people and the pressure is just building up, without even a suggestion of recognition.

If only I had a disposable, unlimited source of money; like winning the lottery, then I wouldn’t have to deal with crap from ‘the man’!

Much love.

‘Creamgate’

I hate Sunday’s because the whole day all I’m thinking about is having to go to work the next day. It doesn’t help a sunday get any better when we have to leave the ‘in-laws’ house on bad terms.
Karen’s mum every 2 minutes kept making jokes or making reference to giving our 12 week old daughter cream. Now, the thing with giving a baby that young cream is that kids under 6 months shouldn’t be on actual foods because their wee guts haven’t properly built up protection yet, studies confirm this and karen has a degree in human nutrition so she knows better.
So, Karen tells her family “if anyone gives our baby cream, we are walking out of the house” … Can you guess what happened?
Yeah, Karen’s mum actually gave her cream. Its one thing joking about it, but its a whole other thing to actually do it.
The reason Karen and I are so annoyed, is mainly down to the fact they don’t respect our wishes as parents. Fair enough if you didn’t know and you went ahead and fed our daughter whatever, but if we specifically tell you not to and you do, well that’s plain idiotic.
So we left their house, hopefully they’ll learn a lesson here, for once to actually listen to what karen has to say and take it on board instead of ignoring her wishes as always.

Rant over, much love.
